Frequently Asked Questions
Get questions?
Do I need to drive onto Phillip Island to drop my cat off?
No — Puss Inn Bass is at Woolamai Hills on the mainland, right on the route from Melbourne, before the San Remo bridge onto the island. Drop off on your way down, pick up on your way home.
How far are you from Melbourne?
About 100km south-east, roughly 90 minutes via the Bass Highway — on the way to Phillip Island, not a detour from it.
Is Puss Inn Bass on Phillip Island itself?
No — we’re on the mainland at Woolamai Hills, not to be confused with Cape Woolamai, which is on Phillip Island.
What vaccinations does my cat need?
A current F3 vaccination, proof required at drop-off.
What’s included in the nightly rate?
Heating/cooling, aromatherapy, bedding, toys, daily enrichment, and daily photo/video updates.
Can you take two cats from the same family?
Yes — sharing a cage ($30/night) or connecting cages ($40/night).
Will I know how my cat is doing while I’m away?
Yes — you’ll get regular photo and video updates.
What if my cat needs medical attention?
New Haven Vet is on call, you’re notified immediately, vet costs are at the owner’s expense, and routine medication is administered free of charge.
How do drop-off and pickup work?
Both are by appointment — arrange via Bookings.
How far ahead should I book?
As early as possible, especially around Phillip Island’s peak periods — as a boutique cattery we only have a limited number of units.
